Lou started hairdressing in 1999 at The New Zealand Hairdressing Academy. Since then she has earned extensive experience working both in New Zealand and abroad. Working and living in Brazil (with her husband who is from Brazil) Lou gained great insights into the culture of Brazil which was inspiring as it allowed her to see how different cultures take care of their hair and beauty needs.
Lou has run Kafuné since 2011 (formally Ripe Hairdressing) With the support from her regular clients, Lou can maintain her dream in providing an outstanding service in hair care, with every customer walking out the door looking refreshed and feeling a million dollars. Kafuné is also a complete Sustainable Salon using the Sustainable Salons ANZ program.
Lou is an exclusive Davines salon. Davines supports the environment by using recycled packaging and environmentally friendly ingredients. Davines products are not only gentle on the environment but gentle on skin and hair too, which is very important to Lou.
Lou enjoys training and growing young, eager hairdressers and takes pride in providing the best service possible throughout her salon and in her work.
Lou has a closed client base, however she is happy to assist in helping you start a hair journey with one of her other magical stylists.
Tai started hairdressing in 2013 as a fresh eyed teenager straight out of school. He started his hair journey at Vie Hairdressing in New Plymouth.
A few years later Tai decided to have a complete change and went to work in retail. Was then transferred to Auckland. Decided retail wasn’t his gig and the love for hair was real.
Tai started working in a big salon in Auckland, and decided he needed a boutique salon to continue his growth and love for colouring hair. Tai has been at Kafuné since early 2018 and already his passion for colour has grown through in salon training sessions and out of salon courses. Tai currently is our in salon Davines Colour Specialist.
Outside of work Tai loves nature, he loves running around our wonderful Auckland mountains. Tai enjoys watching Netflix, so any Netflix recommendations that are a fresh find will be talked about.
Tai is such a happy inviting soul to have around.
